Favorite November Book

We love I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Pie by Alison Jackson.  The things this old lady eats are so funny! The only questionable part is when the author observes how fat the lady has become. The lady may be lacking political correctness but children find her preposterous diet hilarious!  We give it 4 bookmarks out of 5!

The old stand-by Old McDonald Had A Farm

And another classic Down On Grandpa’s Farm  Sleeping Cows. Children lie down and pretend to be sleeping animals as you sing. When they are awakened, they stand and make the appropriate sounds and movements. It goes like this:

See the sleeping cows, till it’s nearly noon.                                                                                                                                                                   Come let us wake them with a merry tune.                                                                                                                                                                   Oh so still, are they ill?                                                                                                                                                                                                         WAKE UP SLEEPING COWS!
